…as the “greatest metal band on planet Earth” during their concert in Tampa on June 6th 2025.
In the summer of the year 2000, a buddy and I went to a free concert put on by Cypress Hill and Limp Bizkit, sponsored by Napster. The opening band of the Jacksonville show was a Metallica cover band called Alcoholica. The whole show was supposed to be a bit of a slap in the face of Metallica, because they were caught up in a lawsuit against Napster at that time.
It was a free show, like you could get free music on Napsters free server. Metallica was even suing kids and fans of Metallica for downloading Metallica music for free.
It was a great show, had a good time for free. To get in the show, you had to get in line early and wait for a few hours for tickets.
Now Limp Bizkit is on tour with Metallica.
