Our Dog JUNE

We lost one of our family dogs Wednesday morning. We called her June because we found her running stray across 103rd Street on June 2, 2016, and it fit her because I already had a dog named Johnny Cash. Now we had Johnny AND June.

We knew nothing about June, except that she only had three legs. Her back left leg had been removed, there was a surgical scar there. She was a very sweet dog, seemed like someone’s pet. Nobody ever claimed her, she was ours now.

As the days went on, June kept gaining weight and getting bigger, all around the belly area. She was clearly pregant. 63 days later on August 3rd she had 11 puppies while I was at work. I came home to find her in my favorite chair with all 11 puppies. The chair had to be thrown out to the road, it was trashed. Out of those puppies came Rocky, one of our current family dogs. We also gave one of her puppies to my Mom back then, and that puppy is still around also, still living at Moms house, we call her Martina.

June had been feeling sick for a few days and was staying in our laundry room. She went through this last year too, right after Dad went into the hospital. June got better and back to her normal self until this past Monday night, and my wife started noticing she wasn’t feeling well. We took care of her best we could, hoping to get her to a vet on Wednesday. She died overnight and we buried her Wednesday morning. 🙁

RIP JUNE BUGGY FRESH
